The Vision

summer youth 2026.jpg

Art is a fundamental human right and a fundamental human need. Just like air, and love, and food, and purpose. Experiencing art and making art are necessary to being human. That’s its value. Period.

There are lots of folks who make a great case for the utilitarian value of the arts. Art bridges differences, builds community, develops fine motor skills, cultivates self-efficacy, and so much more.

At the end of the day, you have a right to art, no matter what elements of power or culture are ascendant.

Our job at Artspace is to do all the good we can for art and through art in Greenfield and Franklin County. It’s one thing that we know we can do, now and forever, and we are grateful for the opportunity to do it. Thank you.

Clay as Care

A therapeutic ceramics initiative that builds wellness, stability, and connection for marginalized adults who face intersecting behavioral-health challenges. In partnership with social service agencies, Artspace will offer ceramic arts workshops both on-site and at our partners' locations, offering art as a tool for emotional regulation, peer support, and skill-building, and embedding arts-based healing within social service ecosystems.
