The Teen Art Collective: TAC
The Teen Art Collective, otherwise known as TAC, is a FREE, flexible & supportive teen art program, geared towards developing a consistent visual art practice, experimenting with new materials, creating a body of artwork, forming a community, curating an end-of-year art exhibition, & working as art leaders in the community.
-
TAC meets on Thursdays, 5:30 - 8:00pm, for teens 13-18yo
-
This is a 100% free program, seriously!
-
All supplies are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own works in progress or favorite materials to use
-
Blocks 2 & 3 have TA opportunities for emerging art educators to learn classroom management skills and assist in our youth vacation programs (stipends provided).
-
Instructed by artist and educator Chloe Torri.
-
Made possible with Mass Cultural Council - YouthReach

The Teen Art Collective is for motivated, young creatives looking to develop their artistic skills and sustain consistent art-making. No experience necessary; enthusiasm required!
-
This is GREAT for both teens who are curious about art AND young artists looking to pursue a creative life into their adulthood.
-
Have a varying schedule? Can't attend certain days or the full open studio time? Not a problem! Come when you can; free, but registration is required.
BLOCK 1
November 5th - December 17th

Focuses on community building, experimenting, finding their voice, learning new techniques, and setting goals for their individual art practice.
BLOCK 2
January 7th - March 25th

Focuses on pursuing areas of interest, completing artworks, practicing writing about your artwork, and forming an artist statement.

Interested art educators may add on 30min each week for TA skill development and pursue TAing for our February Break, April Break, and Summer youth programs for kids (7-11yo).
BLOCK 3
April 1st - June 24th

This block is all about endurance, completing goals, and building community events. Did you set out to learn various types of printmaking? Were you determined to finish an oil painting? Did you hope to complete a series of drawings? As the school year builds, energy and creativity can wane. How do we encourage each other and challenge ourselves to meet the finish line?

Interested art educators may add on 30min each week for TA skill development and pursue TAing for our April Break and Summer youth programs for kids (7-11yo) ** stipend **

Plan, prepare, and host community art projects for Artspace tabling on-site at Franklin County Pride, Música Franklin Fun Fest, and potentially other community events. Teens must help with at least 2 hours of one of the attending community events

Group art show in the Artspace Gallery will open on Friday, May 21st and is open to all students who attend one block of the TAC program.
