About the event
Learn the basics of wheel-thrown pottery. In this class, we’ll work on the skills required to throw ceramic bowls, plates, mugs, vases, etc. using a potter’s wheel. In addition to building technical skills, we’ll also examine form, function, and decoration.
This class is most appropriate for beginners or people coming back to the practice after time away. Students will learn wheel-throwing basics like centering, pulling walls, and shaping simple forms. Students with prior experience may refine those techniques and take on more complex projects.
This class is held from 12:30pm - 3:00pm on Saturday, January 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st, February 7th, 21st, 28th. NO CLASS ON February 14th.
Class will be held in our new 1st floor clay studio. ALL art materials are provided! Clay, glaze, and firing included; shared tools available.
