About the event
Saturday, March 21st 10am - 1pm Instructed by Kady Woods, $30/artist This class is held on the second floor (stairs**) For ages 14+, open to all level artists with no experience necessary Block printing with rubber blocks (sometimes referred to as linocut) is a fun and accessible way to customize clothing, tote bags, and other textiles. In this class, we’ll begin by sketching a design on paper, then walk through how to transfer that design onto a carving block. You’ll receive instruction on carving techniques, followed by printing using textile-specific inks. Take the block home so you can continue printing on your own!
If you want to bring something to print on: choose natural fabrics with a tighter weave, such as cotton, linen, hemp, or canvas. Avoid overly textured and synthetic fabrics.
You may bring a printed design no larger than 4x6 inches to transfer onto the block. Designs must be printed in black toner…
