About the event
Learn the basics of wheel-thrown pottery. In this class, we’ll work on the skills required to throw ceramic bowls, plates, mugs, vases, etc. using a potter’s wheel. In addition to building technical skills, we’ll also examine form, function, and decoration.
This class is appropriate for both beginners and intermediate students. Beginners will learn wheel-throwing basics like centering, pulling walls, and shaping simple forms. Intermediate students will refine those techniques and take on more complex projects.
This class is held from 12:30pm - 3:00pm on Saturday, September 13th, 22th, October 4th, 11th, and 18th, NO CLASS ON SEPTEMBER 27TH.
Class will be held in our new 1st floor clay studio.
ALL art materials are provided! Glaze, firing, and up to 25 lbs clay included; shared tools available. Additional clay available for purchase. Please note: this is our "soft launch" session in our new studio. The session is two weeks shorter than subsequent sessions.…
