Adult Handbuilding Spring 2 2026

In this class, students will explore the many methods of hand building functional ware with clay. We will work with techniques like coil building, slab building, sculpting, and pinching- as well as learning surface decoration options.

Students can expect to make items like spoons, planters, small sculptures, wall hangings, and dishes- and have space for a more intensive project for a couple of weeks (like constructing a functional lamp body or ceramic trinket shelf).

This class is appropriate for beginners and experienced students. Beginners will learn the basics of handling clay and the techniques above; experienced students will refine their skills and explore new forms

This class is held from 6:00pm - 8:00pm on Tuesday, May 5, 12, 19, 26, June 2, 9, 16.

Class will be held in our new 1st floor clay studio. ALL art materials are provided! Clay, glaze, and firing included; shared tools available.
